Andorian professor was impressed by the literature of St. Etchmiadzin Matenadaran

    Today Andorian eminant professor at the UAB and bibilophile Miguel Huguet with the Armenian benefactors from Argentina Sergio and Susanna Nahabetians and together with their family members visited “Vatche and Tamar Manoukian” Manuscript Depository .The guests were accompanied  by Fr.  Maghakia Amiryan, the Prelate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka's General Prelacy.

    The Deputy Director of Matenadaran Mr. Papin Muradyan gave the necessary information to the visitors. The guests had a walk through the exhibition halls, got acquainted with the ancient books as well as with the literature of the reading hall and in the main depository.

    Mr Huguet was mostly interested in Voskanian Bible. As a bibliophile, he had studied the first Armenian-language printed Bible published in 1666 in Amsterdam. This was a symbolic  opportunity for the prominent professor to read the original example of the first Armenian-language printed Bible gazing at Biblical Mount Ararat.

    Miguel Huguet and  Alex Nahabetian from the USA, the son of Sergio and Susanna Nahabetians, are going to publish a new work of great historical importance.  

    Ancient manuscripts and documents will be reproduced with innovative technologies. This book will promote the spreading of the Armenian manuscript and printed heritage all around the world and will be an original material for the foreign researchers who work in the field of Armenian Studies.

    Mr. Alex Nahabetian said the first example of that work would be given to Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

    Sergio and Susanna Nahabetians gave detailed information about the rare collection of the ancient manuscripts and books to Andorian professor.
