Catholicos of All Armenians Met With Participants of 3rd Pan-ACYO World Assembly

  • On July 4, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; met with the delegates of the 3rd Pan-ACYO World Assembly in the lecture hall of the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Library.

    At the beginning of the session, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America; presented the agenda of the Pan-ACYO World Assembly; highlighting the efforts of the Mother See and the youth for the effectiveness of the ACYO mission.

    His Holiness Karekin II, offered his blessings and congratulations to the delegates, expressing his joy that the youth are once again united in their Homeland and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Catholicos of All Armenians praised God that the concept of a Pan-ACYO was brought to life years ago in 2001, and today it has become a tangible reality inside the life of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.

    On this occasion, His Holiness conveyed his appreciation to His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, noting that the fulfillment of his important mission has been made possible by his tireless dedication, endless work, and as a result of his love for the youth. 
    His Holiness expressed his satisfaction to the diocesan primates of the Armenian Church, for their support shows to the Youth associations.

    Addressing his remarks to the youth, His Holiness noted that their presence provides great strength and enthusiasm to the national-ecclesiastical life, inspiring confidence that the religious life will be more successful and with a bright future. The Catholicos of All Armenians added that being close to the Church is of great benefit for the youth, as the Church is the treasury of the Armenian nation where God dwells, and each Armenian son and daughter has a chance to commune with the legacy of our forefathers, the nation's history and values.

    His Holiness stressed the importance that every Armenian, who passes through the holy arches of the Church, is strengthened and inwardly transformed. His Holiness expressed his wish that the young delegates must always live in God-loving grace, in order to be the bearers of the rich and sacred heritage left by their fathers.

    His Holiness answered the youth’s questions which were related to the Pan-ACYO activities, the coordination of youth movements, diocesan and parish life of the Armenian Church, preaching activities undertaken by the Mother See and issues of preservation of the Armenian identity.
